Our range of UK-built furrow presses is the definitive partner for your plough, designed to consolidate and seal the soil instantly to preserve moisture and create a superior seedbed. FURROW PRESS

One-Pass Efficiency

By packing the land as it is ploughed, you take advantage of the soil’s natural moisture to break down furrows effortlessly, significantly reducing the fuel and time required for subsequent cultivation passes.

Invest in a machine crafted for long-lasting durability and minimal maintenance, ensuring your investment stands the test of time.

Immediate Consolidation

Seals the surface to prevent moisture loss and soil ‘capping’ or blowing.

Deep-Action Packing

700mm diameter rings designed for underground packing below 10cm.

Optimised Germination

Delivers an evenly consolidated seedbed without the burden of extra wheel marks, leading to uniform crop ripening.

Agronomic Advantage & Soil Preservation

The Furrow Press is engineered for those who prioritise soil health. By reducing the number of secondary passes needed, you drastically lower the risk of deep-field compaction. In light and medium land, this press can create a finish suitable for immediate drilling; in heavier conditions, it splits the furrow and prevents the soil from “baking” into unworkable clods. The result is a surface that remains open and weatherproof, but firmly packed beneath for optimal root development.

Engineering for Every Plough

Every NRH Furrow Press is built to withstand the rigours of heavy-duty primary cultivation. We offer 700mm diameter rings with both 30°, 45° and shouldered profiles, allowing you to tailor the aggressive nature of the press to your specific soil type – from light, sandy loams to the most demanding heavy clays. With a wide variety of working widths available, our presses are designed to integrate seamlessly with your existing plough setup.

SPECIFICATIONS

Heavy-Duty Ring Selection

Our 700mm extra heavy-duty rings are the core of the machine. The 30° profile is optimised for deep penetration in heavier land, while the 45° profile provides surface support for lighter soils. Choosing shouldered rings offers enhanced depth control and consolidation, while closer ring spacing ensures a thorough, consistent pack across the entire furrow width.

Adaptable Mounting & Retrieval

Equipped with fully adjustable pick-up arms, the press can be fine-tuned to suit the specific geometry of your plough. The integrated three-point linkage and built-in forklift attachment ensure easy transport, quick handling, and maximum manoeuvrability when not in work.

Maintenance-Free Performance

To ensure reliability in sticky or damp conditions, our furrow presses are fitted with high-tensile cleaning chains as standard. These chains prevent soil buildup between the rings, maintaining the machine’s weight and effectiveness throughout the day without the need for manual cleaning.

Precision Spacing

The rings are spaced to provide maximum consolidation without over-working the soil. This precise engineering ensures the seedbed is firm enough to support the drill, yet open enough to allow for excellent drainage and aeration.
